Terms of service

Last updated 2026-07-24

These terms govern your use of Citebuilt, a construction project management and document-intelligence service operated by CiteBuilt at https://citebuilt.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The service

Citebuilt lets construction teams store project documents and drawings, search them, run AI-assisted review against standards, and keep registers such as RFIs, trackers, submittals and fire-penetration records. Features available to you depend on your subscription plan, as described on the pricing page.

Accounts

  • You must give accurate registration details and keep your credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by people you invite to your organisation.
  • You must be authorised to accept these terms on behalf of the organisation you register.

Subscriptions, trials and billing

  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Paddle, our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment, invoicing and sales tax.
  • The 3-day trial requires a valid payment method. Nothing is charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription converts to the paid plan shown at checkout and the card is charged.
  • Trial accounts are limited in volume (for example, a capped number of entries per tracker per project). Those caps are lifted when a paid subscription starts.
  • If a subscription is cancelled or a payment fails, the account moves to the Free plan. Your data is retained, but features outside the Free plan stop being accessible.
  • Prices may change. We will give at least 30 days notice before a change affects an existing subscription.

Your content

You keep all rights to the documents, drawings and records you upload. You grant CiteBuilt the limited licence needed to host, process, index and display that content in order to provide the service — including sending relevant extracts to the AI models that power search and review. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train publicly shared models.

Acceptable use

  • Do not upload content you have no right to upload.
  • Do not attempt to breach, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or access another customer’s data.
  • Do not resell or white-label the service without written agreement.

AI output

Citebuilt produces AI-assisted analysis, including compliance findings, clash interpretation and drawing review. This output is an aid to a qualified professional, not a substitute for one. It can be wrong or incomplete. Every engineering, safety and compliance decision remains yours, and must be verified against the governing standards and the responsible engineer's judgement.

Availability

We work to keep the service available and backed up, but it is provided "as is" without a guaranteed uptime commitment unless we have agreed one with you in writing. We may suspend access for maintenance or for behaviour that threatens the service or other customers.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, CiteBuilt is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data, and our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under consumer law.

Ending the agreement

You can cancel at any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the paid period, after which the account moves to the Free plan. We may terminate for serious or repeated breach of these terms. You can export your data at any time while your account is open.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
